About My Studio

My living room doubles as my studio. I work in acrylics on canvas. I use watercolours and drawing in various media, mainly pencil, during research. All my research dating back to 1974 are held in black sketchbooks. They are now a resource for me. I enjoy working large, with bright colour and have used as a starting point the local landscape, or trees and plants. In March this year I held, “The Figure”, a portrait show at Morningside Gallery, Barbados Community College. In every room of my home is my collection of work by 83 artists, comprising artists’ prints, paintings, sculptures and wearable art. Most are abstract and without people, yet they speak to each other. These are by Barbadians or Caribbean artists who have shown here.
